Shhh…Mansion Global Reveals the “Secret of the San Juans”

On May 19th, Mansion Global readers opened the paper to uncover the “Secret of the San Juans” in an article heralding the awe-inspiring archipelago as a retreat as recent analyses have named it “the hottest luxury real-estate market in the country.” According to Nancy Keates, the growth in the area is both a product of its serene surroundings as an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and “by an influx of high-tech companies to Seattle, where soaring home prices make the San Juans look like a bargain.”

Mansion Global highlights a number of luxury estates in the area including Friday Harbor Estate, listed by Mary Norris, broker and Global Real Estate Advisor with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR). The property, owned by rock legend Steve Miller, is currently listed at $14.8 million and boasts “an 11,686-square-foot, stone-and-wood home on a total of about 40 acres. It also has a dock with deep-water moorage.” For Miller, the appeal was all about convenience as he tells Keates that “for a guy like me, who does 70 cities a year, I needed to be somewhere I could get in and out of.”

“It is so wonderful to see Friday Harbor Estate featured on a platform that reaches around the world,” said Norris. “I look forward to aligning this truly remarkable retreat with its next steward.”
